Come see what we’re saving for you.

These are the words that greet you as you walk into the National Archives at Kansas City. And boy, are they saving a lot! We recently did some shooting at the National Archives for a marketing video and were blown away by the federal records and photographs that are being saved right here in Kansas City! Stacks and stacks of records covering everything from war registration cards to Indian records to Leavenworth case files are waiting for you to uncover the stories that lie within them. Even Walt Disney’s bankruptcy records are here in Kansas City where his first company, Laugh-O-Gram Films, Inc. was created and the inspiration for Mickey Mouse was born.

After spending a day at the Archives I think every person on our crew wants to return in order to do some researching of our own. Did you know you it’s FREE to do research at the Archives? That includes access to ancestry.com as well as other websites. It’s free because all of the records in the Archives belong to the American people. It’s stories of OUR history, waiting to be discovered.

When you have some free time, go check out the National Archives at Kansas City. It’s right next to Union Station and the staff is more than willing to help you with your search. Tell them Outpost sent ya!
